PROCESS

INITIAL CONTACT

  • Once you’ve done some research and collected visual references related to your tattoo idea, you can contact the shop by calling 416 588 2982 or emailing us through our website or directly at info@widowtattoo.com. Please be sure to send visual references along with details such as placement and size. From there, we’ll coordinate with the most suitable artist and book you in for their next available opening for a consultation. Please note: Visual references do not have to depict the exact subject matter related to your tattoo but rather visual components that will aid in the communication of your concept.

CONSULTATION AND BOOKING

  • Consultations are free and just a quick conversation with an artist where we can go over the details of the project you have in mind; that way we can ensure that you get the tattoo that you have envisioned. Pricing and availability can also be determined once we have had a consultation with you. On the day of your consultation, our artists’ will have your references printed and prepared upon your arrival. Please note: You are more than welcome to bring additional references. Our artist will use this opportunity to discuss the details of your piece and eliminate any potential misunderstandings later in the tattooing process as well as problem solve during pre-production.

  • Once you’re ready to book, we’ll carefully go over a list of shop tips and policies before taking a deposit. From there, we will provide you with a deposit slip to be signed and proceed with booking you in for our next available opening that fits both yours and our artist’s schedule. You will receive a confirmation email as well as a three day reminder email regarding the date and time of your appointment.

DAY OF APPOINTMENT

  • On the day of your appointment, we ask all clients to arrive on time, well-rested and well-fed. It’s important to eat a large meal at least a half hour before your tattoo session. This is essential for pain management. Once you arrive, you will be asked to read and sign a consent form as you wait for your artist to escort you into their station. We allocate the first half hour of every appointment dedicated to design revisions. This will be an opportunity where you will see the design and make any potential changes if necessary. Once you finalize your design, we will troubleshoot the final placement and size with a temporary stencil based upon your preference and artist’s professional recommendation. When you are 100% happy, we will settle you in the chair and proceed with the tattoo. Once your tattoo is completed and securely bandaged, we will provide aftercare instructions as well as an aftercare card to be taken home.

  • Please note: We cannot be held responsible for any clothing worn during the tattoo process. If necessary, bring a change of clothing. Although we do our utmost to control ink and pathogen spread, you must plan on your clothes potentially being exposed to pigments during the process. Tip: Wear black.

  • If you’d like to take a break, please feel free to let your artist know. We are more than happy to take a few moments before continuing. Lunch and snack breaks are always encouraged. Water and coffee will be available at the shop. Don’t hesitate to ask if you need anything at all.

FoLLOW-UP

  • Three days after your appointment, we will follow-up via email for an update on your healing process. Clients are also welcome to send updated photos of their tattoo.
