Fitness Friday with Kyra Gracie
If you don't recognize her last name, Kyra Gracie comes from a long line of trained killers. Kyra was born into the family that made jiu-jitsu what it is today. Growing up in a house full of black belts she was given the perfect setting to perfect her craft from an early age. Despite being told by her older uncles that she should stop training after she reached her purple belt to pursue other things, Kyra persevered and earned her place with a black belt. She also became the first Gracie woman to compete in the sport.
Kyra is not only a remarkable athlete, she's an exceptional role model for every woman out there. She stuck to her beliefs, never quit, and fought her way to the top against all mental, physical and emotional odds.
